An underrated spell. This works nicely in combination with other health drainers such as C. Phantasm and the like. It also makes easy work of bosses by cutting their health right at the end.

you also get this skill at droknars forge.
three combos i thought off the top of my head the second i saw this:
P. Pain + Conjure Phantasm: Massive Health degen. (6-9)
P. Pain + Fragility: Take extra damage after the recovery from the deep wound, plus when the DW is triggered.
P. Pain + Fevered Dreams [Elite]: Can make the deep wound spread to everybody.
If youre a Me/R like my char:
Apply Poison + Conjure Phantasm + Phantom Pain: Oh god, even if you have 0 illusion this causes 10 health degen! Then when the deep wound is in you do it again for even greater effect!
Me/W's can do the same except switch apply poison with sever artery.
Basically.. this is one of the most versatile abilities in the game.

Okay, first off, everyone knows that Phantom Pain is a cover hex right? That means you cast it last.
Never cast it first, because if someone removes a hex, the first one to go is the last one put on.
Second, Hypernecrofear, PP+LT+CP = wasted energy.
CP = 5
LT = 3 to 7
PP = 1 to 3
Max health degen is 10. So, 3 + 7 + 5 (in your order) = 10 + 5 wasted (unless healing breeze or Troll Unguent or Melandru's Resilence or something to counter health degen).
You are better off with Life Siphon (1 to 3 health degen).
The mod will only occur with the weapon, not the spell. So it won't work (as far as I know).
And Deep Wounds will not stack with other sources of deep wounds.

Actually, if you were wielding a cruel weapon of whatever when the deep wound occurs, the mod should affect it increasing it's duration by 33%.

If ur running a degen build, note that i do this with ele primary, i use c. nightmare, c. phantasm, then phantom pain to have over 16 health degen! will that even show up tho? i think theres a limit to how much degen u can put on one target.
